If you have caught the canoeing bug and would like to learn more, we offer tailor-made canoe coaching sessions for all levels. Whether you paddle on big rapids, gentle rivers, lochs or lakes, we can structure the session to include the skills that are necessary for your chosen discipline. Prior to your arrival, we will talk about your current level of experience so that we can put together an itinerary that increases your technical knowledge in the areas where it’s most needed. If you generally paddle on lakes or flat rivers, we will focus on elements such as adjusting your position in the boat (trim), setting the canoe up for sailing, the best paddle strokes for a long journey and a few of the bushcraft skills that go hand in hand with this great vessel of adventure! If you are a river paddler, we will talk about how to read the river, the most powerful paddle strokes, lining/tracking and poling, how to tie your kit in and what to do in the event of a capsize. Whatever your current level of experience, our aim is for you to leave your session with increased confidence and an armoury of skills that will allow you to go on bigger and better adventures.
