ABSEILING

This activity is one for those with a good head for heights and a spirit of Adventure.

Abseiling (from the German word abseilen, 'to rope down'), also known as rappelling is a technique used by climbers, mountaineers, cavers and canyoners to descend cliffs or slopes when they are too steep and/or dangerous to descend without protection. With instruction you will learn how to lower yourself with control giving you a real sense of achievement whist being completely safe as our experienced instructor will have a second rope attached to you (known as the safety rope) so that you are safe the entire time. All you need is a little bravery and trust to complete this memorable experience.

Abseiling can be done as part of an adventure walk, a standalone session or as part of a mixed activity day. we have a selection of locations to choose from throughout the Borrowdale area. The exact location will be selected to meet the needs of your group after a brief conversation by phone or email. Whichever Abseiling venue is select they are always located in picturesque locations so even if abseiling isn't for you, just being there supporting those who are can be memorable experience in itself.
